Tea party in the afternoon at home.
Khady is preparing the tea while Mansor, Maghette and Pap Gay are
playing on the carpet. Tea party is a nice occasion for stay together
and wakhtaan (chatting). I really want to thank Khady for teaching
me to make tea, the "attaya toubab" in the words of Gedda. I also
want to remember Fatou Lo, who arrived later that afternoon with a
very beautiful boubou (dress). |

That's me coming out from the interior
of the "big baobab", an enormous baobab (which is said to be the greatest
in the west Africa) in the nearby of Joal. |

Wall of mask in a street of Dakar.
This is the merchandise of a "boutique" I casually saw one day and
I never was able to find again. Is there someone who knows where this
place is in Dakar? |

The day of korété men of Somone
pray in a sacred place of the beach. Korété is the feast at the end
of rhamadan, the month of fast. Rhamadan is a very hard period, people
don't eat and don't drink during the day, from dawn till dusk. Really,
one can prove his will and faith. |

La Somone is a village of Lebou people
(a Wolof tribe) in the "Petite Cote", south to Dakar, in the department
of Mbour. Fishermen are pushing their pirogues to the beach, back
from fishing. |
